Fuel Pump Blues

Oh yes, my peeps, looks like the fuel pump in my car is shot. KA-CHING!

When I talked to the shop manager yesterday he said they hadn't been able to "get to it," but said he got in and from the way it was acting it was either the fuel filter or the pump, but more than likely it's the pump.

Happy Friday to me.

As if I don't have enough shit going on with trying to pack to move, dealing with pain management and stressing about the surgery, now this. I'm looking at the bright side, though, at least "the guys" have been cool and have been giving me rides to/from work so I don't have to brave the weirdos on the bus every day. I've never had to do that in my life, although people watching might be a nice distraction from everything else.

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend. Packing and cleaning are my two middle names right now. WOOT!

I Want One!!!

So I get on the computer, and Yahoo tells me that they've gotten some new red panda cubs at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia... I LOVE pandas, but never knew there were RED ones!
Are these little guys cute or WHAT?? TWINS, no less!!! If I had the means to do it and the guts to fly over water (let alone FLY), I'd be on a plane out there in a heartbeat. I've always wanted to visit there. Anyway, turns out these cuties are endangered! How could something this cute be endangered? From what I understand, there are only about 2,500 in the WORLD, in the Asian Himalaya area. I saw that poaching and the destruction of their natural homes is what's happening. POACHING? Why would you want to kill this cute little creature? What?? Are they good eatin'? Do their pelts make nice coats or stoles or something?
I'm not a total tree-hugging environmentalist type, but SAVE THE RED PANDAS!
Hey, guys, I HAD to do SOMETHING to take my mind off all the shit going on around me while I waited for the chicken to cook so I could take two bites and get back to freaking out.
Brotherman looked at my car today and looks like either the fuel filter and/or fuel pump will have to be replaced. Oh NO, it couldn't be something as simple as the alternator. If it's the pump, it's gonna cost a pretty penny.
Hmmm...what are red pandas going for these days, I wonder?
Thank God it's almost the weekend and I can get back to the perpetual packing. YAY.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!!!

OH, the friggin' boxes!!! I packed a shitload of stuff on Saturday. I WAS going to go into the office to make up some hours, but it would have been pointless since there's really not much to do. (For ONCE I'm totally caught up!) Not to mention Friday night really sucked so the last thing I needed to do was sit at my desk and think too much. Life will go on, and that's all I'm sayin' about that.

Let's face it: moving sucks. The sorting, going through stuff, the cleaning~~~oh...after four years in this place you bet your ASSES that at least every 6 months I'm gonna be cleaning behind furniture in the new place, especially with the dog around.

I finally ran out of boxes, so I had to snag more from work. It's amazing how much stuff you find you have when you try to pack it all up. I'm giving a LOT of it to Goodwill or the Boys & Girls Club, making less for me to move. A LOT of good clothing is getting tossed. I'll never be a size 3 again, that's for sure. Not that I'm not proud of my size now. Hey, for 41, I'm not bad!!!

The dog definitely knows there's something going on. She just hangs on the couch watching me pack. You'd think she'd try to help somehow...

UPDATE!!! I went out to start my car this morning and rrr...rrr...rrr...NOTHING. I've been having problems with it, and this time it just wouldn't turn over. I think it's my alternator. YEAH, the fun just never stops, does it??? I had someone from work come get me, but I would much rather curl up in a ball right now.

Happy Hump Day, all...

A VERY Rare Occasion...

I DID say "When it rains, it storms!"

...and STORM, it DID, INDEED!!!

Around 10:00 this morning it started "lightly" raining. Typical for Arizona, and usually lasts about 1/2 hour.

OH YEAH...It sprinkled on and off till around 1:00pm, then the sky LET LOOSE, BABY! We got thunder, we got lightening, we got a DOWNPOUR!!! BONUS: We got pea-sized HAIL!
Most of us stopped what we were doing just to watch this phenomenon. HAIL? NOW? WTF?

I was too chicken to run out to get pictures. The clouds were PINK and GREEN...and LOUD! SCARY, from where I come from back east, but it was all cool. Lightening took our phone system out for a few minutes, but nothing major. Just a LOTTA, LOTTA water for the desert. Streets flooding, hillbillies stuck in washes...your typical AZ spring storm.
Then we got another. No hail, just a LOT of rain. OH the smell of desert sage, eucalyptus and creosote together! Only when it rains this much do we get that luxury.

The sun came out for about 10 minutes, then it clouded up again, another storm cell threatenin.' By the time I got home from work, the dog was on the love seat, exhausted from being freaked out by all the thunderclaps, and had buried herself in the clothes I had already folded up waiting for boxes for Goodwill..she will be forgiven for the refolding. Poor baby! (read: dammit! I already folded that shit ONCE!)
God bless her li'l heart! I really was worried about her. The second I walked in the door from work I snapped this pic, she jumped up and wouldn't leave my side, and hasn't. She's lying at my feet while I type this. Now THAT'S a loyal companion! When I took her outside, I took pics of the sky, knowing it was gonna give way and start up again any second...

It started raining again around 6pm, and just let up a little, and it's 10:30. This is supposed to continue on into Saturday, and I am LOVING IT!

Living in the desert, it doesn't take much to entertain me. ha ha! I'll try to get cool sky pics if the weatherdicks down here are right. MAN, I miss Dick Goddard...It's almost Woolybear Season up there about now!!!

When It Rains It Storms

Monday morning I couldn't find my keys. Seriously. They disappeared off the face of the earth. I had my maintenance guy working on my door frame on Sunday, as it got sucked outward by the wind and I couldn't get my door OPEN, so he had to come fix it. No worries, but I thought he walked off with my keys. NICE.

So Monday morning I'm running around my apartment frantically turning it up oneside and down the other. NO dice. After waiting for the office to open, I was able to get a spare key to the apartment, but still had no way of getting my car started.

Thankfully, my dad was on vacation and took me to the nearest dealership to get spare car keys made. Cost $40!!! I couldn't believe it, but what choice did I have?

Needless to say, I missed jury duty. The guy who called me back from the court was understanding and rescheduled me. "How about sometime in May?"

"Uh...yeah...here's the thing..." After explaining the surgery in May he was cool and rescheduled it for mid-June. I should be fine by then.

Tuesday I woke up with a raging migraine and had to take a sick day. It's still there but better than it was.

That's all I've got to report. Not really doing much work today. The lights are killing me.

Happy Hump Day!

Jury Duty

Oh yeah, I'm so thrilled...I get to fight traffic to go downtown and sit around and read all day.

Woo fucking hoo.

It's bad enough that it's Monday, and now THIS?

Hope you guys have a better time than I will.

I Want My Mommy!!!

I miss my parents. They've been super busy. Well, Moms has been, working for the company she works for. Pops is living on TV dinners, and I'm, well, in pain, and TRYING to get busy going through shit so I don't have to stress about the move. And the packing. OH, the packing. Moving sucks, even though it IS within the same apartment complex. I got to talk to Pops tonight, and it was fun. No matter what, FLOYD DAY is ON in June, as is the "Pink Floyd Experience" in April. Livin' LIFE!!!

Then there's the upcoming surgery. I'm moving the week before, so I'll be coming home from the hospital/"hospice-at-the-'rent's" to boxes of stuff to be unpacked. My best friend and I haven't spoken in over 6 months, so that's not an option. Not that I haven't made the attempt to make amends. LUCKILY, I have "manly" volunteers from work to move all my big stuff, and I will have 4-6 weeks to "gingerly" go through boxes. Not to mention I'm taking a few days off at the end of next month so I can move some carloads and at least get the kitchen and bathroom set up. These two rooms are HUGE things for a female. GINORMOUS!

Can I have my morphine drip NOW, please? Do I REALLY have to go through this one more time before it's all over? Whomever out there has the voodoo doll, seriously...VERY FUNNY. Now take out the fucking pins, okay?

Luv,
Lady K

So...Well...

Mondays suck. Period. Pun TOTALLY intended.

Cramps suck. These and one more set ought to seal the deal, as surgery is scheduled for May 1. This is all pending approval from the insurance company, but hey, last time I was with them they were all for it.
I've got some really cool pics of the sky, some crabcakes I made, and a mug of beer from a growler we took home from dinner at Rock Bottom Sunday night...when I heat up the ribs I brought home, I'll DEFINITELY take pics, they were to DELECTABLE!Vanilla Sky, on the "parkbench" outside at work! (P.S. the same-named movie kicked my ass again over the weekend. Seen it a few times and STILL can't wrap my mind around it.)"Yeah, I want some crabby cakes!" Home-made chipotle mayo, too, yo! YUM!
Sky outside the restaurant Sunday. Sunsets this time of year are REALLY sweet.

And, finally, what could be better than a "Raptor Red" beer and "good times" after a sweet dinner like that? OH YEAH! Mickey Mouse brings it all home. This is my favorite mug!

I must admit, I was a little hungover, but having dinner all paid for by the company in appreciation for my hard work was worth dealing with a little discomfort the next day.

Happy Tuesday, kids!

Judging Lady

"You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting..."

I don't know of anyone who loves this clip from "A Knight's Tale" any more than I do. (yep, that was on PURPOSE.)

I was corrected for broken grammar tonight, and decided it better to lock the door in his face rather than pound it with whichever (whatever? proper grammar here?) instrument served worthy of beating his nose (or his NUTS). I'm sure both would have been horribly wrong and landed me in jail.

Neither here NOR THERE, I was PISSED OFF as HELL.

And so I say, "I FART in your GENERAL DIRECTION!"
ANYWAY!

Today it was at least 85 degrees! Pretty typical of March down here, but I still think there may be more "chilly" weather. By chilly, I mean 60's-70's. I know a lot of you are cursing me right now, but for me anything below 80 is "sweater weather." LOL! Deal. Try 120.

(Insert current rant about work here.)

Surgery is being rescheduled for early MAY, so I can get moved, settled, and all that happy combobulation. Someone's not happy about that, but like I said, #1 must be happy and given a good pre/post recovery. End of discussion. The song, "Mr. Big Stuff" comes to mind. Whatever.

Hope you peeps have a GREAT weekend.

End with a REALLY cool pic. She is SUCH a cutie. It WAS cold the other day. Go figure. Weather in AZ is wonky this time of year... This was "laundry day."

"You woke me up for THIS?"

Happy Friday, kiddos. Really.

To Everything, Turn, Turn, Turn...

Holy crap! Life's been a whirlwind the last few days. The perfume dealio at work, trying to figure out what to do about the "big move," and scheduled surgery.

Oh yeah, they got it scheduled for April 10, pending insurance approval (here we go again). TWO WEEKS before I'm due to move into a one-bedroom in the same complex. (Different area, best thing for me right now, and WAY cheaper.)

Stress is high, and I really need to sit down with the complex to see about my options. Can I sign for 6 months at the "higher" rent and THEN get into the cheaper place for said cheaper cost? Should I just postpone surgery till AFTER I move? Will the new doc be available to postpone the operation? Good thing I'm not a nail-biter.

B/F wants me to stay put and to move in, but I am just not ready to go down that road again. I really hope he understands, but I know his level of disappointment is GRANDE.

I gotta look out for #1 here, that's the main thing, and have to think that the less stress before AND after this operation would expedite my recovery time. The faster I can get back to work, the better. That's HALF my stress level, right there. Who KNOWS what havoc will be wreaked while I'm gone...

The crud is going around the office, and I woke up with it. I'm fighting like a champ not to let it take me down. I have bigger fish to fry, not to mention an anniversary coming that I really don't want to face. Chicken soup isn't just good for the body, it's good for the soul, too...

Hope everyone has a Happy HNT. God BLESS you, PUD, whatever hell you're experiencing with those assplugs over there. I'll walk around FULL MONTY just for you. I'll even keep the blinds open! ha ha!

Luv,
Lady K

Aww nah She Di'nn't!!!

I worked from home all day Monday. Oh, yes I DID. I have ASKED the person from the office NOT to wear the cologne TO the office TWICE. Is there a chance of getting laid there? Um. NO.

Does she continue to wear it? Yeah.

It was all I could do to breathe. I was only there an hour.

Anyway, I got a lot done, at HOME! More than I would have, given the environment I was handed when that chick showed up. I even had to take 1/2 sick day, which really sucks. Can you say, "hostile work envornment?" I SO don't mean "hostile" on my part. Well, maybe I am, a little...

Happy Tuesday. Hopefully the air will be clear when I go in.

ZODIAC

I went to see this movie when it came out Friday night...all I can say is HOLY SHIT. And yeah, I really did have nightmares all night, but that's not stopping me from seeing any OTHER "thrillers"...mwa-ha-ha!

It's DEFINITELY worth the $10 to see it on the big screen!!!!! Albeit a little slow, it's worth paying some attention and perhaps doing your own research to the actual case. I happened to do that, but STILL had someone constantly leaning over telling me what was gonna happen PLUS give me the NAMES of the people AND what the "police reports" said and...and....and...."

AAAHHHH!!! Pa-LEASE!!!. I absolutely HATE that during a movie. I almost got up and moved. I don't go to the movies for that shit. SHUT...THE...FUCK...UP!!! Even if I've SEEN a movie and people ASK me what's gonna happen, I just shrug and say, "SHH! Just WATCH!"

Anyway! The movie was INTENSE. SLOW, for obvious critical historical reasons, but intense just the same. Jake Gyllenhaal and Rob Lowe did a tremendous job, as did the rest of the cast!

And the beat goes on, doesn't it? We read about this shit in the paper and see it in the news every day. We just caught a serial killer down here. Scares the shit out of me every day.

On a lighter note!!

Unbelieveable pic from the other day. HAD to share.

Happy Monday!

I LOVE the Internet!

REALLY!

Thanks to Shanru's wonderful, COOL (albeit split, ha ha) link to NBC'S "REWIND" thing, I finally got to watch this week's episode of Heroes, with VERY LIMITED commercial interruptions! (Yeah, they gotta pay for airing it on the net somehow!)

All I can say is "WOW." And....HOLY CRAP! For those of you who haven't been watching, you're really missing out on something cool, if you're into this sort of supernatural shit. Novak, I know I have two strikes now, with the whole Genesis thing and all. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!

Tuesday nite I didn't sleep a wink. Okay, MAYBE I got an hour of catnapping in here and there, but still. Lack of REM sleep weighs on ya. I can't turn my mind off, so last night I had a cocktail and took a Tylenol PM. Bad idea. Thank GOD for my inner alarm clock, or I'd probably still be sleeping. Let me tell ya, I was pretty much comatose from about 7:30pm till 6 this morning. My couch is pretty damn comfortable, I must say! GLORIOUS! I'm groggy, but I woke up STARVING, and waking up over an hour early gives me enough time to toast a bagel. Hell, I might even make some eggs.

Too bad I have to go into work and listen to the music from up front and listen to the singing, and ask her to turn it down 4 times a day. It really sucks when you have to crunch numbers, the distraction is unnerving and quite annoying. Thank God for my headphones, otherwise I'd be one postal bitch. I hear lots of complaints about the shit, but nobody seems to have the stones to do anything about it. I've been sworn to "bite my tongue."

Happy HNT! I can't wait to get more sleep...
