Still Resting...

Well, kids, the nerve endings just don't want to cooperate, and I've been stuck lying around again on pain meds. Sitting up for any length of time is uncomfortable, but I've been assured that this too, shall pass, as long as I TAKE IT EASY (*cough* tell the pope not to pray *cough*). I started wondering how in the FUCK I'd be able to sit up all day at work in a pair of jeans. Then I just decided that I wouldn't. I've got some cute dresses SOMEWHERE, right, so why not?

I am not a chick for dresses, unless it's for a wedding or a funeral. MAYBE for a serious date.

Seriously. I can be girly, but not "cheerleader" girly, know what I mean? (AH mah GAWD!!!)That's just not how I roll. I can sew and do latch-hook and shit like that, but don't sign me up for any quilting bees or shit like that, okay? Oh my GOD...it's the hormones, right?

So...I went through my closet, found some dresses, dusted 'em off, tried them on, and they all miraculously fit. Hell, most of them are even a little too big and out of style, but fuck it, I'm in this for comfort at the moment, not style, right?

In all honesty, why can't I just wear my PJ's to work for a week or so? Ya know, the plaid kind, with feet? Or just some matching "pants-suit" satin type with my sandals? Yeah...that would be girly...

Hey, if I accessorize, I could make 'em look professional, right?

P.S. R.I.P., ... Luciano. BELT it for the angels, bro.

I hope you're washing back some of pain pills with some booze. I hope you feel better K.

How out of date are these dresses? You're not going to wear a poodle skirt are you?

cork ~ are you calling me old? LOL They're actually not that outdated. They don't even button all the way up my neck. ;)

Not cheerleader girly? I always wanted to be cheerleader girly. Just kidding... though there was a period in high school where I felt that the standard of beauty required poofy hair and short skirts.

I'm a fan of long, comfortable skirts with slits up the sides for easy striding.

Or you could try getting out of work for another week. That's the route I'd take. It's hard to argue with the "it'll take a week longer than expected to recovery from my ORGAN REMOVING SURGERY!!!!" argument.

alkelda ~ nah, I'm a "diggin' in the dirt" kinda gal myself. Then again, a cheerleader outfit might be fun for halloween...

limpy ~ now THAT'S what I'm talking about! LOL Think I could milk it for TWO weeks?

I'm still allowed to fantasize about you in cheerleader outfits though right? There is no rule against that?

birdman ~ how about my Catholic school uniform?

Yeah! Milk it for as long as possible.

You wouldn't want to strain something and then out AGAIN! ;-)

I'm with the milking. And if you have a male boss, just go into some detail about the feminine issues, and they'll give you all the time off you need.

I have a cheerleader outfit. Last Halloween, I went as a DEAD cheerleader. Ha!

And I'm with Alkelda - long comfy skirts are the way to go.

Hit the closest Old Navy store. Look for a selection in their pj section called "just bottoms". They have these uber-comfy jersey-knit bottoms with draw-string waists that are so soft and comfy, you'll be hooked for life. I have 2 pair and I swear I wear them out in public, sometimes and no one has the faintest clue they're supposed to be pajama pants. They have large flared legs at the bottom and come in a variety of colors. Sometimes you really have to rummage to get beyond the horizontal stripes and weird designs, but they also have a few solid colors (I have black and heather grey). They're probably even on clearance, now! Even if not, they run somewhere between $12 - $15. They're worth every penny.

xoxo Feel better soon. Oh, and TAKE IT THE FUCK EASY!, unless, of course, you want to add a couple/three more weeks to your recoop time.
