Getting There...

Good GRIEF. Sitting at my desk SUCKS. I really tried the ice pack, ibuprofen, and getting up every, oh, fifteen minutes to walk around...I only made it until 2pm today. I'm PISSED at myself. I managed to get a boatload of work done and halfway managed to figure out what the FUCK my temp replacement was doing with the job at hand while I was gone.

I've decided to use her copies, copies, and more copies, in folders with redundant notes labeled with more notes and MORE copies of said redundant copies IN MORE FUCKING FOLDERS...

...for kindling when I go camping to call in some elk (hopefully for pictures) in a couple of weeks.

OH, YES, It is time for LadyK to hit the mountains. It IS rutting season down here soon, and I can hardly wait to hear those huffin,' puffin' huge-ass bulls bugeling and fighting for their cows. OH, YES, it is a beautiful sound. I don't CARE if it's just before dawn, I'm up that early anyway...

Wednesday, I'm gonna try to get back in there early, and stay all day, if I can. If not, I might go in for a couple hours over the weekend to make up hours. If nothing else, to save face and prove I'm not milking it. God, I hope I have time to shave...nobody likes that 5:00 shadow!

Happy hump day!

I've never thought of Elk mating as sexy, but somehow when you talk about it....

Don't push it, Lady K! Everyone who's conscientious is worried about looking as if s/he's "milking it," but you do need to take care of yourself. When I sprained my ankle badly in the first week at a new job (fortunately it happened on the job, as my insurance hadn't kicked in yet), I was so determined to get back in the game that I abandoned crutches and a cane before I should have.

Don't push it. Just remember - your work doesn't define who you are. If you need to heal, they need to understand that. You don't have to prove anything. And what's even better is that they cannot discipline you for it. It's illegal. So, if you need to heal, by all means HEAL!

I thought you were going in an entirely different direction with "rutting season", but observing wildlife is fun too.

Hi Lady K,
Sorry I've been out of touch with you, one of my few loyal readers. I've been one down in the dumps gorilla and haven't been thinking about anyone but myself. You definitely need banana daiquiris and plantain fosters (what?!). Your friend, Brad
