And ALL the Peasants Rejoiced!

That's RIGHT, peeps, I couldn't be HAPPIER, because the Colts beat the SHIT outta da Bears, and it's time for more FOOD PICS!

Saturday I made preps for some Superbowl chili. Ground beef, fresh chopped anaheim chili, chopped green chilis, tomatoes, some thyme, garlic, onions, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and OH MAN. Sautee' that shit up and throw it in my mini crock pot with some chili beans....YEAH!

THEN, I took some ideas I got from Rachael Ray and made some mini ham/cheddar/swiss grilled sandwiches.
AND, of course, NO superbowl would be complete without some good ol' fashioned "hanky panks." These things are to die for. Just regular sausage, browned up and tossed with some MEXICAN velveeta, to give it that southwestern "kick," with some Pace picante sauce on the side.
A feast fit for an armchair quarterback, I must SAY!

The GREAT thing about all this??? I have TODAY OFF! YEAH! I just needed a "DAY" and was able to get it. I think I'll go out apartment hunting. It's a LOT easier than trying to do it on a weekend, that's for sure.

Your food looks good, but I still don;t regret my decision to go with the ribs and chicken over the veggie platter last night.

Mexican velveeta? If I were Mexican, I would be shaking my fists in rage.:)

limpy ~ thanks! No vegetables were hurt in the making of my feast.

akelda ~ yup, that's what they call it. The stuff is actually pretty good!

The food looks good. For the Super Bowl I made a shrimp and veggie sti-fry with ginger and garlic sauce in my new wok. My wife made a strawberry pretzel salad for desert.

That food all looks tasty!

Those little sandwiches look especially good. What all did you put in them and how did you grill them?

Oh...just send me a sample! ;-)

mark ~ thanks! And who the fuck makes STIR FRY for the SUPERBOWL? Sounds healthy and good, though. I'm curious about the strawberry pretzel salad...

bp ~ I used mini sourdough, havarti, cheddar, and honey ham for the sammies. Grilled them on my electric griddle with a mix of olive oil and butter. They were AWESOME!

I hope you enjoyed your day off! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Colts dominate the Bears. My eyes are bulging out of my head looking at that Chili.

cork...grrr...my day off did NOT turn out to be what I wanted. See my next post. UGH, and EWW, and DAMN. FUCK.

I WAS, however, pleased with the outcome of the game, and calling a co-workker to give him SHIT. "Deep breath." I guess that makes it alllllllll worth the while. hee!
