How Lady Got Her Voice Back

No, LIMPY, it's not how you'd THINK. ;-)

Lots of rest, screening calls, and only talking when I NEEDED to talk, and lots of warm liquids.

Again, Limpy, it's not how you'd like to THINK. LOL

I've still been working on more songs on my guitar. I've acquired a temporary 12-string accoustic and a classical 6-string to work with, too. My fingers feel like they're gonna bleed any second, but my voice has been in my head for awhile, so maybe it's time to trade one for the other. Hey, your fingers don't bleed when you're fingerpainting and humming quietly to yourself, right?

Yeah...it's probably time for the padded room. I'm going nuts without a job, some kind of structured environment. I applied for a pretty good one today, so we'll see how that goes. With gas prices being so high, it would be detrimental for me to do the "commute" again. Especially in this heat. Not that I'm making excuses, it's just ridiculous these days.

HOWEVER! The clouds are starting to roll in for monsoon! These are small, but they keep coming every afternoon:

I'm still waiting for those huge rollers to come in, but for now, these are good for a little shade once in awhile. Tomorrow is only supposed to be about 107. BRR! I think I'll break out my sweater!

Have a great Hump Day!

I Got BLISTERS on my FINGERS!!!

Holy crawfish, kids, that's what I get for taking a break, the economy sucking dry bricks, and getting addicted to youtube. I am learning songs like crazy, I cut off my nails (but decided to grow my hair again, ha ha) and I have NO voice at the moment because I've bruised my vocal chords. WARM liquids, not HOT, not COLD, but WARM. So I'm back to broth and green tea, for the moment.

Damn it. The last thing I need right now is to lose more weight. Especially in this frickin' 115 degree HEAT!!! It's monsoon season, and the clouds are starting to show up to the southeast, so that's a good sign, right? I DID hear a cicada (sp?) bug the other day, too, and that's also a good sign that the rain will come soon.

I had a good time when I sang my ASS off for 2 days, though. My best friend got some of it on tape, and she has my permission to put it up on youtube, but we'll see. If it does make it there, I'll let y'all know.

More later.

Oh, Yes, the Floyd

First off: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you fathers out there! Hope you all get new...uh...something from Craftsman or some homemade gadgets or something cool, like this! ;-)
And now...

Oh, HEYLL YEAH, BOYEEEE!!! The Floyd is ON like ... Well, Floyd!
Pink, that is.
Floyd, ya know.
(Yeah, I should be institutionalized for finding that one)

By the way, which one's Pink?
Day after Father's Day, every year, for the last 15+ years, it's Pink Floyd, baby, ALL DAY. Moms goes to work (or whatever she decides to do), and we just hang out blasting the music all fucking day. It's AWESOME!

Daddio didn't know if he was gonna be able to do it this year, but I got the call, and it is ON, YO. The videos, the cd's, the books, the fun, the Dark Side/Wiz of Oz, the junk food, just the hangin' with Pops. I was really bummed when he said he might not do it this year, but MAN am I SO HAPPY or WHAT? I am STOKED like a summer BONFIRE!!! Who gives a donkey kong if I don't have a job on Monday, I get to hang with Pops and JAM to some great music. I know, I'm such a daddy's girl. ;)

Have a great week, y'all.

Skies & Fries

Took some pretty cool pics, and made the fries myself, with an idea I got from watching the Food Network.

I took this pic after actually scarfing HALF the fries! Normally I freeze them for later or something. These were made with russets, tossing them with flour mixed with cornstarch, then fried normally. They were TASTY! I sprinkled a little apple cider vinegar on the ones I did eat and OH BOY it was like being at the fair or something. Maybe now I'll gain a lb. or two. I got down to 113, but am back up to 115/118, depending on how much smoothie and banana bread I eat in the morning, ha ha.

Anyway, that's all. You all KNEW I couldn't stay away too long. Things are starting look up, I'll say that much for now. My dill is coming up nicely, I just might put up some pickles or something. If it continues to grow as well as it has. Hope everything is great in your corners of the globe!

Peace out!

Yeah, I Think I'm Gonna Say See Ya

It's not like I'm LOOKING for comments, it's just that I just don't feel like writing anymore.

Hell, I don't have anything to WRITE about anymore. Not like anyone cares that much, anyway.

I'll keep this post up until I decide to delete, just so I can keep in "touch" with all of you's, but even then, the last post I had up only had 6 comments. YAY, I'm SO popular. Laughing out LEWD, pun intended.

Those of you who know me can email me any ANY time.

I have some things going on in this life that really need my attention, and though I DO take pictures and want to post them to y'all, I gotta do what I gotta do. I just need a little break.

BIG LOVE and PEACE,

Lovin' Every Minute of It!!!

The weather was hotter than HELL for a few days, but today it is COLD and raining cats and dogs in my neck of the woods. I actually had to break out my sweats (which make me look like a ridiculous circus clown now). Hey, at least I'm warm, right? Seriously, I got hail and lightening, thunder, and the temperature down here is below 50. CRAZY for the end of May in the desert. This time of year I never thought I'd want to go indoors to get WARM! Well, not since I lived back east, anyway.

Check THIS!!! http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=zoom&num=6&delay=15&scale=1.000&noclutter=0&ID=IWA&type=N0R&lat=33.30876923&lon=-111.92140198&label=Chandler,%20AZ&showstorms=0&map.x=434&map.y=269&centerx=400&centery=240&lightning=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0

Hope that link comes through. I LOVE looking at the radar stuff. And I am NOT going to complain, because next week it'll go back up into triple digits, and I won't see anything like this until at LEAST November. This has just been a really cool surprise.

Another cool surprise is that the DES called me back (finally) about my unemployment situation. Looks like I will probably get some RETRO payment because somewhere, somehow, my account got put into a dormant status and that's why nobody was returning my calls. I was a squeaky wheel and got some grease. I'll believe it when I see it, but at least I feel like I can take a deep breath.

I was gonna go camping this weekend, but conditions are not optimal. Meaning, I'd freeze my little ASS off and probably blow away in the wind that's been going on.

Hope everyone has a really nice, fun, safe Memorial Day weekend!

ex's and oh's!!!

Mama's Magic Balls

Holy crap, peeps! My mom made home-made POPCORN BALLS this week. She hasn't done this since we were growing up! Every year when we were in gradeschool (Catholic, mind y'all), she and my dad would LABOR to make 2 to 300 of these suckers for every kid in the school. They'd be buttering up their hands, rollin' 'em up into balls, and once they'd cooled off I'd tuck 'em away into baggies, and they'd go into a sack for Santa to hand out to the kids just before we got our Christmas vacation.

Lo and behold, I had a taste of this wonderful treat this weekend, and I started cooking and eating again. I even had a moment on the phone with brotherman that actually ended with a lot of childish antics and laughter. Good times!

I DID have the good sense to take a picture of these magical balls! (LOL I'm so juvenile I just like typing "magical balls..." ~ yeah, I'm a dork)

...She STILL won't give me the friggin' recipe.

Have a great Monday!!!
