Happy Independence Day, Peeps!!!

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

God bless this country's TROOPS, wherever they may have you, making our country safe. And God keep you SAFE, PUD, wherever you may be. I think about you a LOT.
Hope you all have a safe holiday~here's to whirrled peas!
Mousethis can't POSSIBLY be a mouse, although smiley central says it is. Looking further into things, they've got a "pony" listed as a mouse, and a "mouse" listed as a pony. I'm convinced that the blogger people are trading crack bags with everyone at smiley central. Really.

Now I've Seen Everything

I went to yahoo's home site, watched the video of the yo-yo kid, and was all ready to post it. Or try to embed it. Obviously I'm just too blonde to figure that out yet. I'd really like to see what that kid can do with a couple sets of nunchucks. HOOWAH!

Instead, I'm just going to direct you guys HERE.

Some of the funniest shit I've seen in my life. They really know how to live it up over there.

Now I wanna try this "human tetris" thing. I really think we need more reality shows like that. Survivor is getting lame, anyway...not that I KNOW, I haven't watched in a couple seasons.

As far as the Saturday night saga goes, it's pretty damn personal. Emotions tend to run pretty high when you know you're getting your junk ripped out and have to move right before. And that's all I'm saying about that. I WILL say that I'm pretty stoked about my new apartment. More on that later. Have a GREAT DAY, kids!

If you didn't care what happened to me,
And I didn't care for you,
We would zig zag our way
through the boredom and pain
Occasionally glancing up through the rain.
Wondering which of the buggars to blame
And watching for pigs on the wing.

Now I Want Meatloaf

This weekend wasn't ALL bad. I made Hawaian chicken Friday night. It was AWESOME, and BF agreed. He said something about whether it was okay to get a boner over food. Had to be there.Saturday, I chauffeured brotherman to get a new vehicle. It's a SWEET SUV, with ALL the bells and whistles, for UNDER 7k. Yeah, I'm a little jealous, but he really needed his own wheels and well, he's my bro. Plus, I got LUNCH out of it. I'd post a pic, but he forbids me.

I won't get into Saturday night's saga.
Sunday I played guitar, ordered comfort pizza, and jammed with brotherman. It was a good time! We're working on a remake of a Floyd tune. It should be pretty cooll, if we can get it right.
One day at a time, right?
Mondays suck, as usual. Then again, one more month and I get 6 weeks off. YES, it's official. I'm finally goin' under! AND, I found a new apartment! I start moving on the 20th. I can't WAIT!
Have a great week, peeps!

Out of the CLEAR BLUE SKY!

I went out for my usual afternoon break this afternoon and caught movement out of the corner of my eye...talk about a DOUBLE-TAKE!

I have lived down here for almost 20 years, and have NEVER seen a dust devil the size of the one I witnessed across the street. I really wish I would have had my cameraphone on me. (Didn't I vow to always carry that thing?)

Anyway, I managed to find a photo online REALLY similar to what I saw:

These were actually taken in the northwest valley! The one I saw was a lot darker brown than this one, but just as big. If it would have been a real tornado I probably would have freaked, run inside, gotten my camera and taken a picture just before I got swept up and carried off to Oz. My Grandmother used to warn us when we came down to visit when I was little that that's what would happen if we didn't stay away from dust devils. There was another Indian name she used to call them, but for the life of me I can't remember it. I think I believe her story after seeing that monstrosity today.

I HAVE had them blow across the road a few times, strong enough to rock my car. These things are pretty common this time of year, but they never last very long, so I just stood there, mezmorized, hoping it wouldn't switch directions and cover me with dust and small debris.

It really made my day. Now I'm on a quest to get a picture of my own, but like I said, I've NEVER seen one this damn big the whole time I've lived down here. Really tall, but not nearly as wide as it was. It was quite a sight. Almost makes the 115-degree heat worth living in the desert.

I said ALMOST.

Have a great weekend!

AW...SNAP!

Anyone up for brunch? And some kind of spiked PUNCH? Like a sock in the nose, then a spraying with the hose...

Aw shit. It's too early for limericks.

Yesterday was a BAD day. We all KNEW muffett wasn't as sick as she claimed to be, and all hell was running rampant at work. I always step up, but billing/computer things are changing, and trying to get acquainted with new codes and whatnot just can't be done when the phone keeps ringing its fool ... ringer off.

I woke up in a bad mood. This is RARE for me. I usually get up in a good mood, and stay that way, even if I wake up to dog shit on the carpet (which I didn't today).

Anyway, my ONLY salvation is that all my docs are seemingly in accordance with my latest test results, and surgery should be end of July/beginning of August. You'd think this would have me doing the happy dance, but...I'll settle for happy sit-ups to strengthen the abs.

It's almost the weekend, and I have more time to get my ass out of this ghetto.

Always look at the bright side, right?

Lordy...

I've barely had a chance to breathe today, let alone post.

Was called in early, as the dispatcher called in sick again. It's busy as fuck and I'm miserable. You guys know how much I hate being on phones.

And, of course, I'm going to get behind in MY work again, making it even more stressful.

GOD I can't wait for my "vacation." LOL

Happy Hump Day.

It's THAT Time of Year Again...

OH yeah...Summer...115 degrees, running from the car to whichever destination you're headed, and back outta the building into your 150 degree car, burning your hands on the fuckin' steering wheel and praying for the A/C gods to cool your car off before you get to the end of the block.

Yep! SUMMER in the DESERT.

I'm gonna TRY not to bitch so much about it this year, but don't count on it.

My only salvation: The EVENING SKY pics.

I went out today right around dusk...UN-FREAKIN'-BELIEVEABLE:

I swear to ALL of you on EVERYTHING that has meaning to me, I took all of these posted pictures with my camera-phone. They do not EVEN do the sky justice. Breathtaking...

And, of course, I saved the best for last:

Check this OUT! I walked right outside my front door, into the parking lot and "AWWW, SNAP!" There was this. I may just save it and get it framed. Hell, maybe I can sell it to AZ Highways magazine! This shot was SO worth burning the crap out of my bare feet on that blacktop. LOL

This SO made Monday worth, well, Monday.

OH! Got the call from the liver guy's office: ALL blood is NORMAL. Duh! I KNEW all that shit was due to the flippin' antibiotics earlier in the year. Now it's just a matter of scheduling. I'm SO getting drunk. Then I'll be good, then CUT ME, DAMMIT!

Happy Tuesday, kids!
