Wait...Did I Say, "Lucky?"

My surgery has been cancelled indefinitely. I canNOT believe this shit.

I got a call from the OB's office today, saying that they got my bloodwork back, and my liver enzymes are super high. Too bad I wasn't at the time, it really would have softened the blow.

She faxed all the documentation over to my GP, who said there was no WAY it was safe to do surgery, so the OB nurse calls me back, telling me that the girl over at my GP's office wanted to talk to me NOW. I called her, and she said she'd already made me an appointment with a GI specialist on Wednesday MORNING to do a Hep panel and probably do an ultrasound on my liver.

For real...WHAT???

So now I get to be poked, prodded, probably stuck with more needles, and generally bite my nails until I hear what the hell is wrong.

I'm sure it's just the antibiotics I've been on for the past 2 weeks and all the Tylenol I've taken for the pain I've been in that prompted this surgery in the first place.

Let's just hope that's all it is. Again, I will quote Cartman from Southpark: "Son of a BITCH!"

Happy Hump Day.

Photo Radar is BULLSHIT!

Okay...So I found out via mail on Wednesday that my driver's license has been suspended.

H'WHAT?

Last JUNE (yes, LAST June, almost a YEAR ago), I got a photo-radar ticket, given to me by a process-server who knocked on my door at 7 in the morning. SEVEN A.M. ~ NOBODY knocks on your door at 7am unless something is terribly wrong. (Last time someone did that, it was my neighbors three years ago telling me they chased a peeping tom away from my bedroom window.) Okay, whatever, I paid the $189 ticket for the "red light violation." Meanwhile, this peeping tom is probably still at large. Go after THAT FUCK instead of someone who just happened to be on the wrong side of the line at a yellow light. Jeez-o-pete.

So I PAID THE TICKET, but apparently I owed money to the city for the process server. $95!!! Nobody informed me of this charge, or I would have tried to fight it. SUPPOSEDLY they mailed me the alleged "bill" for this. Huh. FUNNY how they HAVE MY FUCKING ADDRESS TO SEND THE ASSPACKER OVER HERE TO GIVE ME THE TICKET but they can't seem to get me the invoice to PAY THE FUCKING PROCESS SERVER CHARGE. What a racket. So now I gotta go down to the court to pay the $95 (or talk to the judge and get him to waive it, ha ha), AND, I have to physically go to the DMV to pay a reinstatement fee PLUS something they call an "age appropriate" application fee. What the fuck is THAT shit? "Age appropriate?" What? Do they give you a discount if you're over a certain age, like the "early bird specials" at restaurants? Talk about discrimination. Asses.

Anyway, Thursday and Friday I drove illegally to work and back, all the while making sure I was obeying ALL traffic laws and just being generally paranoid.

Monday, I get to waste 1/2 day's vacation going to get bloodwork and get all this legal bullshit taken care of. B/F has the day off and agreed to chauffeur me all over the place to get me legal again. OH, the joy.

At this point, I'll feel lucky if I don't die on the table next week.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? (not for little eyes)

"The Japanese distributor of "Babel" is warning audiences the movie may cause nausea or headaches...

Gaga Communications has received 15 complaints since the film, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, opened Saturday in theaters throughout the country, company spokeswoman Aimi Ichikawa said Wednesday."

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN' ME.

This has GOT to be a joke, right? People can go watch movies like "Pulp Fiction" and "Fight Club" and even all the "SAW" movies with NO sickness or headaches and NOBODY complains, but "BABEL???" For the love of humanity.

Anything to get out of work, is that what it is? Are they putting some kind of subliminal message in their copies of the movie to punish the Japanese for not working 23 1/2 hour days? Anything for a lawsuit against the producers/distributors? I just don't get it. Makes me want to go see the movie, but the "suggestion" that it may give me headaches and nausea scares me, even though I do still think Brad Pitt is hot.

Give me a break. When I read this article I about fell out of my chair laughing my fool head off. Really. Then I was doing my Cartman impression of "Screw you guys, I'm going home." That's all they really had to say before they left the theatre with their puking migraines.

I'm sure if there is a PMRC for movies, they will get involved in this shit. ("Oh GOD! That movie made my son Johnny a puking mass-murderer, due to his headaches because he saw a movie!!") Then why LET him WATCH it in the FIRST PLACE? Pretty soon they'll start bleeping out all the "f" words in public movies, blurring the blood & gore, and we'll all be just watching Winnie the Pooh movies. Shit, they'll probably start censoring Disney movies soon.

FUCK. (Yep, I said it.)

Next time I'll tell you guys how I REALLY feel. JEEZ. LOL

Anyone have a headache or throwing up during this rant?

Sweet Serenity

It rained mid-day here today. It actually cooled off and rained for about 1/2 hour. Go figure. I know that March either comes in like a lion/lamb and goes out like one or the other, and April showers bring May flowers. Right. This is Arizona.

Okay...MAY 1? Our weather has become quite wonky lately. Rains when it's not supposed to, gets hot early then cools off to sweater weather. So far, this is not your typical Arizona "spring." Then it got hot again, and just humid enough to be annoying and bring out all the "BIG bugs." (Bees the size of hummingbirds, people, and they sound as such ~ frightening.)

I was on the phone a little bit ago, checking in on the 'rents to see how they were feeling. Pops is good but needs to follow up with the doc, and moms has pneumonia but is feeling much better. They're keeping her home for the week. I'm still on antibiotics for another week, but the cough is dwindling and productive. Yeah, yeah, I know...gross.

(BTW, Happy "NOT having surgery today-day" to me! ha ha) Work kinda bites. I SO hate training people. Me time just isn't there, ya know? Not to mention ms. no initiative. I'm BEGGING my boss to find something so she quits running all over the office distracting everyone. 'Nuff said.

Anyway, while I was on the phone, the sky was turning a pink/purple/orange color, but no wind, so I figured nothing would become of it. Out of the corner of my eye through the living room window I caught a flash. When I looked out, this BEAUTIFUL, THICK purple/pink lightening streak came out of NOWHERE to the south. I heard a helicopter overhead, probably a news crew taking pics of this phenomenal looking lightening that kept streaking across the sky and down. I can't remember ever seeing something so breathtaking, so I got off the phone (uh, probably a good idea during a lightening storm) and dragged my chair out close to the golf course so I could watch the show. Then the wind kicked up, the temperature went down about 25 degrees, and it was amazing just to sit there and watch. Try as I might, I couldn't get any pics of this lightening with my cool cell-cam, but I'll try to find some local stuff online. It really WAS like something out of a picturebook.

Right now the wind is still going, it's actually still lightening and thundering, and it's "chilly" outside (hey, for desert folk, 75 is pretty cool), and it's begun to POUR out there. I'm going to enjoy it while the getting's good. I just had to share something COOL for a change. How 'bout it!?

OH ~ Was Heroes INTENSE or WHAT? I'm SO thankful I got to catch this episode online. I kept falling alseep!

Happy Hump Day, kids!

The Blustery Day

I got nothing, really. I pretty much slept all weekend. Saturday I woke up and there was a major dust storm going on with really high winds. I managed to muster the energy to take some pictures, which really don't do it as much justice as some video would have:
The wind blew my chair around like a paper bag!It snapped branches off the trees like toothpicks.
The sky kept growing more angry looking by the minute. Did it RAIN? Nope. It "tinkled."
Today it's supposed to reach 95. Summer's arrived in the desert. Thank God I'm not gonna be moving in this heat.
Happy Monday, kiddos!

For the LOVE of PETE, STOP!!!

I went home early today, again feeling "truck-hit." Work is pretty cool with it, all that "take care of YOU" shit and everything...

Now Moms is sick as hell now. Mind you, she's not one to go to the doc, but she did, and they've been making HER stay home, not knowing what's going on. Same kind of URI shit I'm dealing with, but if she's not better tomorrow, they're gonna put HER ass in the hospital.

WTF?! We're good peeps! Hardly hurt a fly, for cryin' out loud!!!

Can we GET a fucking BREAK here???!

Surgery's rescheduled for May 15, God willing.

Happy Friday, kids.
